CBM hosted a virtual project update information session on December 1, 2021 with members of the public to provide an update on the proposed project. CBM hosted the meeting via GoToWebinar.
An invitation to this meeting was delivered via Canada Post Neighborhood Mail to over 2,000 addresses, and sent via email to members of the public whose email addresses are in the project's contact list. The invitation was also published on the project website, and emailed to other potentially interested parties.
CBM would like to thank the neighbours and members of the Caledon community that attended the virtual information session for your participation and for your questions and comments. The intent of the meeting was to provide an update on the proposed project, to provide an update on the technical studies that have been completed to date (including preliminary results and next steps), to provide an update on the actions that CBM has taken to address the input received from the public during the spring 2021 virtual sessions, and to answer your questions about the proposed project. We hope that we answered any questions that you may have at this stage and we look forward to continued dialogue with you as the technical studies progress. All questions raised during the session will be addressed in detail on the FAQ page on this website in the coming weeks as mentioned below.
A copy of the presentation provided at the meeting can be found at the link here.
The recording of the presentation can be watched below.
Meeting attendees will recall that we played a video during the session of a blasting event at CBM's Osprey Quarry (near Collingwood) to provide an example of what a quarry blast looks like. The video is shown in the presentation recording above (without sound due to the limitations with GoToWebinar). You can also watch the video, with sound, below.
CBM has created a frequently asked questions (FAQs) subpage on this website that provides answers to FAQs raised during the virtual public meetings held in spring 2021 and other consultation completed for the proposed project. The FAQs will be updated in the coming weeks to address the questions received during the December 2021 session. We invite you to sort through the FAQs available in the subpage in the meantime.
As noted during the virtual public meetings, consultation will continue with members of the public, as well as Indigenous communities, government officials and agencies, and community interest groups. As part of ongoing consultation for the project, CBM will host another series of meetings on individual topics and technical studies early in spring 2022 (e.g., virtual meetings on topics of concern such as traffic, water, noise, blasting, etc.). Information about these future meetings will be available on the project website and invitations will be distributed using similar methods from previous meetings (e.g., mail, email).
We welcome comments or questions you may have at any time during the project, and are committed to participating in constructive dialogue. You also do not have to wait until future public meetings to reach out. If you would like to be added to our contact list in order to receive future updates and notices regarding the project and possible future licence application, please contact us at:

CBM hosted a series of virtual meetings with Indigenous communities, government officials and agencies, community interest groups, and members of the public in Q1 and Q2 2021 to provide an update on the proposed project.
As part of this series of virtual meetings, CBM hosted four meetings with members of the public in March and April 2021:
On March 9 and 11, 2021, CBM hosted three meetings via Microsoft Teams with neighbours living closest to the proposed project site. An invitation to these meetings was hand delivered (dropped off in mailboxes) and sent via email to near neighbours whose email addresses are in the project's contact list.
On April 7, 2021, CBM hosted a fourth meeting via GoToWebinar with the greater Caledon community. An invitation to this meeting was delivered via Canada Post Neighbourhood Mail to approximately 2,000 addresses, and sent via email to members of the public whose email addresses are in the project's contact list. The invitation was also published in the project website, and emailed to other potentially interested parties.
CBM would like to thank the neighbours and members of the Caledon community that attended the virtual public meetings for your participation and for your questions and comments. The intent of these meetings was to provide an update on the proposed project, introduce the CBM project team, provide an update on the technical studies that have been completed to date, and answer your questions about the proposed project. We hope that we answered any questions that you may have at this stage and we look forward to continued dialogue with you as the technical studies progress over the next couple of years.

CBM is in the process of preparing a frequently asked questions (FAQs) document that provides answers to FAQs raised during the virtual public meetings and other consultation completed for the proposed project to date. The FAQ document will be posted on the project website (here) in the coming weeks, once completed.
As noted during the virtual public meetings, the proposed project is still at the very early stages and consultation with Indigenous communities, government officials and agencies, community interest groups, and members of the public will continue. As part of ongoing consultation for the project, CBM will host another series of meetings in the near future. The format of these meetings will be determined by the COVID-19 pandemic and the restrictions on public gatherings set out by government and public health officials at the time. Information about these future meetings will be available on the project website and invitations will be distributed using similar methods from previous meetings (e.g., mail, email).

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, CBM has not been able to reschedule the in‑person public information session originally scheduled for March 2020. The virtual community town hall is scheduled for April 7, 2021 and will provide an opportunity for you to hear an update presentation on the project, followed by time to ask questions to CBM staff and their consulting team.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, CBM has not been able to reschedule the in-person public information session originally scheduled for March 2020. CBM wishes to continue to keep the community informed about the project, and, as a result, we will be hosting a series of virtual public information sessions in Q1 and Q2 2021 to provide an update to the local community regarding the project and the field surveys that were initiated in 2020.
Please check back for further information on these public information sessions (including the materials shared at these events) and opportunities for you to provide input about the project. Information about future events will continue to be posted in this page as they are scheduled.
Due to the rapidly developing situation with coronavirus (COVID-19), and in the interest of public safety, we have decided to postpone the public information session planned for March 25, 2020. This decision has been made based on guidance provided by the World Health Organization and the Public Health Agency of Canada regarding mass gatherings and public events. One of CBM’s main priorities includes the health and safety of the community and our staff, so we feel that postponing the event is the responsible decision at this time. We will be looking to reschedule the public meeting in the future, at a time when it is safe to do so in consideration of future information released by the Public Health Agency of Canada, and all stakeholders will be informed of the new date accordingly. The full notice that was sent out to the surrounding community can be found here.
An invitation was sent in early March 2020 inviting the local community to a public information session for the project. A copy of the notice that was sent can be found here.
CBM sent notifications to local neighbours ahead of field work commencing:
A copy of the notification sent in February/March 2020 can be found here.
